EDIT: Closed for entries! We raised $28,571 through this raffle y’all! Thank you all for your support, I never expected to raise so much and feel totally blown away. If you would like another chance to win tattoo time and custom art from me in exchange for donations to orgs supporting Black trans women, you can enter the Lilith Tattoo Fundraiser for Black Lives here! Winner will be drawn July 1st.

There is no collective liberation without Black liberation. Black people have been clear on this for a looooong time, and truly have been throwing down for collective liberation for generations!!! I cannot be more clear that an uncanny amount of the liberties we benefit from today are the direct result of the labor and sacrifice, but also just the sheer creative brilliance n deep deep love of centuries of Black minds and hearts committing themselves to this struggle. Beyond a moral obligation for non-Black people to redistribute wealth and pay reparations, if we seek collective liberation, we would do well to get resources into the hands of people who hold this kind of deep generational wisdom in their minds, hearts, and bodies.

It seems like there’s a way that we as non-Black people are vulnerable to this confusion that it isn’t in our best interest to commit our full selves to this struggle. We can no longer afford this confusion, a confusion that the majority of Black people have very possibly never been able to afford to begin with. I feel so clear that every person is a host of infinitely precious knowledge n power, has specific n crucial tools n wisdom to offer to this fight at any given moment. Every person includes you! Every person includes me too. This tattoo raffle is a thing I know about and am able to offer to this fight in this particular moment. A massive honor to wield this deep personal love of mine in favor of Black liberation, and in turn collective liberation, may we all be so lucky.

INSTRUCTIONS

Winner will receive a custom tattoo, up to 4 hrs of tattoo time

- or - your pick of any of the flash I’ve posted on my Instagram, even if it’s no longer available for booking, up to 4 hrs of tattoo time

- or - if you don’t want to be tattooed, $100 worth of whatever you want from my online shop as long as I have it in stock!

Must be 18+ to enter.

You must be able to travel to either Seattle or LA to receive your tattoo. Conditions permitting, any Seattle person that wins will have the option to book one of my last appointment slots before I move to Southern California in August.

I will honor the free tattoo for up to 2 years after a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, so you will have the chance to travel if you need to.

I have compiled a list of orgs/bailout funds/community efforts below with links to their donation pages for your convenience. To enter, make a donation to your selection from the list below and forward your donation confirmation email to averykiyobooking@gmail.com with your Instagram handle in the message (emails are soooo much easier for me to organize and keep track of than Instagram DM’s)! If you do not have an Instagram, you can ask a friend or family member if you can use their handle to enter. The winner will be announced on Instagram Monday, June 15th so make sure to have your entries in by then.

$10 per entry, no limit on amount of times you can enter. For every $50 you donate, you will receive one extra entry ($50 = 6 entries, $100 = 12 entries).

I will be offering 10 automatic entries per person to any Black folks who wish to enter, just shoot me an email with your ig handle and I will gladly enter you. If you’ve made any donations to these or really any other comparable efforts in the past, feel free to send screenshots of those too and they will be counted as additional entries.

For all non-Black participants, donations must be dated within the window of the tattoo raffle (June 1 - June 15) to count as entries, past donations will not be counted retroactively. Black people hold it down for this work all year round without getting any extra credit so this is a small nod toward honoring that work.

This list is by no means exhaustive so if there is an initiative not on this list that you would like to donate to for an entry, feel free to shoot me a message! I only ask that they center Black liberation/provide relevant assistance to those engaged in the current uprising.

PLS NOTE: The following orgs have received overwhelming support and have asked that funds be diverted elsewhere: The Minnesota Freedom Fund, Black Visions Collective, Reclaim the Block, NYC Bail Fund, Philly Bail Fund, The Northstar Health Collective. Please consider selecting a different org from the list below! You can also find the list of organizations Reclaim the Block has requested funds be diverted to here.

I will try to keep this list as up to date as possible! I have also removed Campaign Zero because I want to support the abolition of police, not their reform. You can read more about that here and find additional resources here.

Happy Pride month y’all! Let us be double clear that there is no Pride, no queer liberation, and no collective liberation without Black trans women!! Pride’s origins in the Stonewall Uprising were the direct result of a lifetime of liberation work by Black trans woman Marsha P. Johnson — her brilliant mind, her genius heart, her explicit resistance of the police. All Black trans people hold an infinite well of very specific very precious generational wisdom about how to dream liberation straight from the heart and fucking manifest it. We would do well to put our resources toward backing them in this fight! Lucky us!!!

All seven artists who make up Lilith Tattoo are pitching in a combination of offerings—including tattoo time, original artwork, prints, custom artwork, and hand-painted clothing—to raise money for the Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network and The Okra Project. Each artist is chipping in multiple prizes, so there are a LOT of chances to win something! We are not able to accommodated requests to win prizes from specific artists, all selections of prize winners will be completely randomized.

Prizes (by artist):

Avery:

  • 2 hours of tattoo time (flash or custom, in Seattle or LA. Conditions permitting, any Seattle person that wins this prize will be able to snag one of my last slots in July before I move to Southern California!) I will honor the free tattoo for up to 2 years after a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, so you will have the chance to travel if you need to.

  • 1 custom giclée print! I’ll draw whatever you want and have it printed and shipped to you, we can discuss what paper and size works best with the piece but I’m willing to go up to 16 x 20”, signed and numbered 1/1.

Jude:

  • 2 hours of tattoo time

  • an original 8” x 10” drawing of flora/fauna

Silver:

  • 3 hours of tattoo time

  • 10 limited edition framed color prints (8.5” x 11”)

  • 2 hand colored prints

Ylva:

  • 1 custom painted article of clothing

  • 5 prints (8.5” x 11”)

  • 2 prismacolor originals (5” x 7”)

Jess:

  • 2 hours of tattoo time

  • 1 original art commission

EJ:

  • 2 pieces of original art

  • 2 prints from their online store, colored by hand

HOW TO ENTER:⁣

You must be 18+ to enter. If you win tattoo time, you must be able to travel to Seattle to receive said tattoo. There is no blanket rule regarding when the tattoo prizes ‘expire’; winners of a tattoo will have the opportunity to plan with their artist around tattoo shop opening times and safety concerns. ⁣

To enter, make a donation to the Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network or The Okra Project and forward your donation confirmation email to lilithtattoofundraiser@gmail.com and include your Instagram handle so we can enter you. Winners will be selected by a random number generator and announced on July 1st. ⁣

$25 per entry, no limit on the amount of times you can enter. Every $25 donation counts as an entry, so a $100 donation gets you four entries. ⁣

We will be offering 4 automatic entries per person to any Black folks who wish to enter, just email the address above with your ig handle and you will be entered into the drawing. If you’ve made any donations to comparable organizations or causes in the past, feel free to send screenshots of those and they will be counted as additional entries. Black people hold it down for this work all year round without getting any extra credit, so this is a small nod toward honoring that. For all non-Black participants, donations must be dated within the window of the raffle (6/9-7/1) to count as entries. Past donations will not be counted retroactively.

COMMUNITY FLASH

NOTE: Community Flash is currently on hold due to COVID-19.

Starting spring 2019, I have begun offering 4-5 slots/month of seasonal, repeatable flash that go back 100% to community-based efforts/organizations. Every season I’ll be picking three community-based efforts/orgs to donate to, and will be dividing up the money evenly between them once the season has ended. New flash will be released at the beginning of the next season!

Instead of concentrating everything into one donation day a month, this will allow for some flexibility in booking of appointments, and provide a structured, rhythmic way for me to integrate this precious practice of throwing economic weight behind all the folks out there doing powerful community work. For the last round of community flash this summer, we raised a total of $1730 for Real Rent Duwamish, Camp Ten Trees, and the Wing Luke Museum!! Thank you to all who gave generously in support of this project :’) I feel very grateful to have a mechanism for showing up for community that feels so joyful and connected. I hope we can all keep scheming together!!

Background

This project had been rooting in my mind for a long time, and it has been very lifegiving to get it going!! The essence of my origin story as a tattooer really boils down to members of my largely QTPOC community offering up their trust, stories, n literal skin(!!) again n again for me to grow my practice up out of, and it feels very moving to me to be in a position where I have enough support in my own practice to be able to close out each season by returning a whole lot of gratitude, and also some money, to community efforts that feel important for me to support.

Winter 2019/2020

December 20th - March 19th

All booked! Thank you so much for your interest and support <3 I hope that even if you weren’t able to book one of these slots that you still consider donating to these incredible organizations!
