Happy Pride month y’all! Let us be double clear that there is no Pride, no queer liberation, and no collective liberation without Black trans women!! Pride’s origins in the Stonewall Uprising were the direct result of a lifetime of liberation work by Black trans woman Marsha P. Johnson — her brilliant mind, her genius heart, her explicit resistance of the police. All Black trans people hold an infinite well of very specific very precious generational wisdom about how to dream liberation straight from the heart and fucking manifest it. We would do well to put our resources toward backing them in this fight! Lucky us!!!
All seven artists who make up Lilith Tattoo are pitching in a combination of offerings—including tattoo time, original artwork, prints, custom artwork, and hand-painted clothing—to raise money for the Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network and The Okra Project. Each artist is chipping in multiple prizes, so there are a LOT of chances to win something! We are not able to accommodated requests to win prizes from specific artists, all selections of prize winners will be completely randomized.
Prizes (by artist):
2 hours of tattoo time (flash or custom, in Seattle or LA. Conditions permitting, any Seattle person that wins this prize will be able to snag one of my last slots in July before I move to Southern California!) I will honor the free tattoo for up to 2 years after a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available, so you will have the chance to travel if you need to.
1 custom giclée print! I’ll draw whatever you want and have it printed and shipped to you, we can discuss what paper and size works best with the piece but I’m willing to go up to 16 x 20”, signed and numbered 1/1.
Jude:
2 hours of tattoo time
an original 8” x 10” drawing of flora/fauna
3 hours of tattoo time
10 limited edition framed color prints (8.5” x 11”)
2 hand colored prints
Ylva:
1 custom painted article of clothing
5 prints (8.5” x 11”)
2 prismacolor originals (5” x 7”)
Jess:
2 hours of tattoo time
1 original art commission
EJ:
2 pieces of original art
2 prints from their online store, colored by hand
HOW TO ENTER:
You must be 18+ to enter. If you win tattoo time, you must be able to travel to Seattle to receive said tattoo. There is no blanket rule regarding when the tattoo prizes ‘expire’; winners of a tattoo will have the opportunity to plan with their artist around tattoo shop opening times and safety concerns.
To enter, make a donation to the Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network or The Okra Project and forward your donation confirmation email to lilithtattoofundraiser@gmail.com and include your Instagram handle so we can enter you. Winners will be selected by a random number generator and announced on July 1st.
$25 per entry, no limit on the amount of times you can enter. Every $25 donation counts as an entry, so a $100 donation gets you four entries.
We will be offering 4 automatic entries per person to any Black folks who wish to enter, just email the address above with your ig handle and you will be entered into the drawing. If you’ve made any donations to comparable organizations or causes in the past, feel free to send screenshots of those and they will be counted as additional entries. Black people hold it down for this work all year round without getting any extra credit, so this is a small nod toward honoring that. For all non-Black participants, donations must be dated within the window of the raffle (6/9-7/1) to count as entries. Past donations will not be counted retroactively.
